Luc Martin and Sabine Luiten met in the summer of 2003 while working as holiday reps in France. After a relatively short time it was decided that come summers end they should move together to the Netherlands and start a life together.
Initially times were tough; finding work for both of them was the greatest challenge. Luc found his way to night shifts in factories; Sabine followed her training to work in a daycare. After one difficult year they were able to rent a small house in a seedy suberb of the city of Breda.
Soon, Luc found much more appealing work in a call center and never looked back at the horror of DHL sorting offices and cardboard box production. At the end of their second year together, and after a promotion at work, Luc and Sabine were looking for a house to buy.
They moved to Tilburg and their very own house in the summer of 2006 where they remain to this day. In July 2007, Luc proposed to Sabine on a hilltop overlooking Nuits Saint-George in Burgundy and the wedding date was set for September 2008.
The wedding was an epic party lasting almost a week and left our heroes bruised and penniless for some time, but they were content to settle down and enjoy an idyllic Dutch life, far from that unforgettable summer in the sun bleached marshland of the Vendee all those years ago.
Early in 2010 Sabine fell pregnant; Archie Benjamin Martin was born on November 25th 2011 at 23.30. And so begins the next chapter in the story...
